Who are NASCAR’s most beautiful people?
The Sporting News asked that question of readers, fans and those who cover the sport, and the results weren’t limited by traditional definitions of beauty. The editors considered fan favorites and sponsor favorites and gave them points, and they also awarded points to “those were were making waves in the sport.”
The results of this non-traditional approach are now out with the publication of NASCAR’s 50 Most Beautiful People. The special edition is now available on newsstands and at the online store at www.streetandsmiths.com.
SceneDaily is running the list, with one person from the top 50 to be featured each day. Only the top selection was ranked, with the rest following in a random order that allows fans to decide who should be ranked where.
Today's installment features Matt Kenseth, driver of the No. 17 Roush Fenway Racing Ford in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series.
Born: March 10, 1972
Birthplace: Madison, Wis.
Current residence: Mooresville, N.C.
In his words:
My favorite car is ... my 2005 Ford GT.
My biggest win was ... Rockingham, N.C., Nationwide race, 1998.
If I didn’t race, I would be a ... crewmember or some type of person working in racing.
In five years, I will be ... old.
When I’m scared, I often ... get mad.
Did you know? Matt Kenseth, a Wisconsin native and Green Bay Packers fan, got a chance in February to fulfill one of his fantasies: the Lambeau Leap.
“I’ve always dreamed of coming to Lambeau Field and doing the Lambeau Leap and hanging out with the fans,” he told ESPN the Magazine last winter. ESPN afforded Kenseth the opportunity to jump into the front rows of the Lambeau Field end zone and be caught by shivering, yet excited Packers fans. After the leap, he signed autographs.
