Nov 6, 2009 at 6:51 PMBruton has always been smart enough to realize what it takes to bring in the fans to spend their money. He never has been shy about that and willing to do what it takes to put butts in the seats and cash in the drawer.

Nov 6, 2009 at 8:23 PMSMI owns half of Motorsports Authentics ..The company warned the situation might not get better and that bankruptcy is a possibility. What's wrong with this picture? Wasn't he suing Charlotte NC for something like eighty million a little while ago for not getting him grant money to cover the cost of a drag strip or something like that..

Nov 6, 2009 at 9:13 PMI may be mistaken but I believe he wanted to open a drag strip and the city gave him a tax abatement then they backed out and he threatened to shut down the Charlotte track and build somewhere out of their reach. I do know that it was a big deal and then gone. Maybe someone in Charlotte can give an update. I do know SMI is posting profit although down from last year.
