Bobby Labonte says that he appreciates having a little extra speed this weekend - at least in terms of sponsorship.
Labonte's No. 43 Petty Enterprises Dodge will carry the logos of the new "Speed Racer" movie for Saturday's NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Crown Royal 400 at Richmond International Raceway.
“Any young boy that grew up in the ‘70s watched 'Speed Racer,'" Labonte said. "I know I did. To a kid that dreamed of growing up to be a race car driver, that was the coolest show on television. They haven’t given me a sneak preview yet, but I’m sure I’ll check it out in the theaters.”
Financial terms of the sponsorship were not disclosed.
