LAS VEGAS – Shelby Automobiles will return as sponsor of the NASCAR Sprint Cup event at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
Shelby teamed up with LVMS in March for the Shelby 427. Next year’s Feb. 28 race will be called the Shelby American to honor the 45th anniversary of the Shelby G.T. 350 and 427 Cobra introductions in 1965.
“We are ecstatic to have the legendary Shelby name on our NASCAR Sprint Cup race for a second consecutive year,” LVMS President Chris Powell said. “This year’s event was a tremendous success, and we’re looking forward to giving more exposure to the Shelby brand that has, over the years, become synonymous with the best in high-performance cars.”
March’s race featured a 427-mile, 285-lap race and was won by Kyle Busch.
“Next year will mark an important milestone for two of the most legendary vehicles Shelby ever produced,” said Shelby Autos President Amy Boylan. “The Shelby American NASCAR Sprint Cup event at Las Vegas Motor Speedway is the perfect way to celebrate this historic occasion.”
