Security guard ends civil suit against Kasey Kahne, NASCAR

Kasey Kahne has finally been able to wipe his hands from an alleged shoving incident at Homestead-Miami Speedway in November 2007.
According to Miami-Dade County (Fla.) court records, a lawsuit brought by track security guard Archibald Hutchinson against Kahne and NASCAR was dismissed Aug. 24. The Richard Petty Motorsports driver has maintained his innocence in the matter, and a misdemeanor battery charge was dismissed in June.
“All matters and things in dispute have been amicably settled,” stated the stipulation for dismissal signed by attorneys for NASCAR, Kahne and Hutchinson. The terms of any settlement were not disclosed.

I know he is only 5'7" but he is a solid 120 pounds. Lucky for him I remembered my guard training and stayed passive. Only someone my size can do this job right.
Walking in the door is Gary Coleman in his security guard uniform and walks right up to Archibald and stands on his tip toes and puts his face in Archibald's: What you talking 'bout Archibald. Your giving security guards a bad name.

Come on...you're working at a race track...you should know at least who the drivers are!! I'll give you a hint...they wear fireproof jumpsuits and usually have a group of followers! If that's too difficult for you to remember I suggest you get a new job...one where you won't have to remember much. I remember reading the article about this case in the Scene magazine and am still shocked by the stupidity of this security guard. If I'm not mistaken he asked Kasey for his credentials. Where was he supposed to put them? In the glove compartment of his race car? In his fireproof wallet in his back pocket? Let this be a lesson to anyone who wishes to work at a race track...learn who the drivers are and just because they have money doesn't mean you should sue them over some dumb childish claim.

If you're going to work as security at an event, you should know who the drivers are. It's irrelevant that Kasey forgot his credentials. I don't care if this was the first and last event the old guy ever worked, he should have taken a few minutes to find out who the drivers are. The list was unreasonable, you would have thought this guy was in a car wreck instead of being tipped over like weeble. For this to have drug out over a period of almost 2 years Kahne should have sued Archie, his lawyer & anyone else involved for emotional stress & lost wages because it effected him being able to give 100% on the track.
