SALEM, Indiana – Ken Schrader won the pole Saturday at Salem Speedway in Indiana for Sunday’s ARCA RE/MAX Series race.
Schrader, whose BAM Racing team in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series skipped tonight's Cup race at Phoenix, was the only driver to crack the 16-second barrier with a time of 16.909 seconds, a speed of 118.162 mph. It was his 14th career series pole in 47 attempts.
“I sort of wanted that one,” Schrader said. “Real happy with the car. If we can keep the fenders on it, we should be in good shape tomorrow. Tough field. I can’t believe the level of competition in this series. There’s a lot of really, really good cars here."
Red Bull Racing development driver Scott Speed qualified fifth. Roush Fenway Racing development driver Ricky Stenhouse Jr. qualified 10th.
Sunday’s Kentuckiana Ford Dealers ARCA 200 presented by Federated Auto Parts begins at 2:15 pm EDT.
