Ken Schrader will drive the Hall of Fame Racing No. 96 Sprint Cup car this weekend at Auto Club (Calif.) Speedway and next week at Richmond International Raceway and then will share the seat with 18-year-old Joey Logano.

Logano, who will drive the Joe Gibbs Racing No. 20 next year as a rookie, will attempt to qualify the No. 96 for the Sept. 14 race at New Hamsphire as well as Sept. 28 at Kansas, Oct. 11 at Charlotte, Oct. 18 at Martinsville and Nov. 2 at Texas.

“We appreciate Hall of Fame Racing helping us get Joey ready for 2009,” said J.D. Gibbs, president of Joe Gibbs Racing, which sells chassis and leases engines to Hall of Fame Racing.  “They came to us with the idea before the August Michigan race and we think it’s a great win/win for all of us.”

Schrader will attempt to qualify the team’s car for the Sept. 21 race at Dover and the Oct. 5 event at Talladega. The team has not announced a driver for the Oct. 25 event at Atlanta or the final two 2008 races at Phoenix and Homestead.

Brad Coleman, who has been under contract as a test driver for Hall of Fame Racing since November 2007, will continue to test for the team in the coming weeks.

“Ken Schrader brings practical experience and stability to our race team that will help in a lot of ways,” said Hall of Fame Racing co-owner Tom Garfinkel.  “Brad did a great job testing for us at Kansas this week [in a Goodyear test], and Ken will be an asset to Brad as we continue to get him more laps in a Sprint Cup car.”
