CONCORD, N.C. – Gillett Evernham Motorsports’ Elliott Sadler led the final NASCAR Sprint Cup test session Monday at Lowe’s Motor Speedway.
Sadler posted a lap of 186.245 mph to lead the session. Red Bull Racing’s AJ Allmendinger followed with a top lap of 184.15 mph. Richard Childress Racing’s Kevin Harvick, Joe Gibbs Racing’s Kyle Busch and Roush Fenway Racing’s Jamie McMurray rounded out the top five.
That group was followed by Haas CNC Racing’s Brad Keselowski, RCR’s Scott Wimmer, Penske Racing’s Ryan Newman, Penske’s Sam Hornish Jr. and DEI’s Paul Menard. The lone accident in the session was when Scott Riggs spun, but did not hit anything.
The test session concludes with three sessions tomorrow – one from 9 a.m. EDT to noon, the second from 1 to 5 p.m. and the third from 6 to 9 p.m. Teams are allowed to participate in any four of the six scheduled sessions.
