Robby Gordon, team penalized 50 points for Coca-Cola 600 infraction
Robby Gordon has been penalized 50 NASCAR Sprint Cup drivers points and 50 owners points for a violation discovered during Coca-Cola 600 postrace inspection.

NASCAR has penalized driver/owner Robby Gordon 50 points and fined crew chief Kirk Almquist $50,000 for a rear axle housing that exceeded the maximum specified toe of plus or minus one degree.
The violation was found during inspection following the Coca-Cola 600 on Monday at Lowe’s Motor Speedway.
Gordon finished third in the Coca-Cola 600 when, running 27th, he stayed out while most of the leaders pitted under caution for rain and the race never resumed.
Gordon remains 34th in driver points and in owner points. In owner points, he is still 131 points ahead of 36th-place Scott Speed of Red Bull Racing.
Almquist was also put on probation until Dec. 31.
