RICHMOND, Va. – Robby Gordon has a new crew chief as Walter Giles has replaced Frank Kerr with the Robby Gordon Motorsports No. 7 NASCAR Sprint Cup team.
Gordon said Giles, a former Dale Earnhardt Inc. car chief who started the season as the crew chief for JTG Racing’s Marcos Ambrose in the Nationwide Series, is the new crew chief.
Kerr had been with Gordon since the start of the season. Gordon enters Saturday night's Crown Royal 400 27th in points. He will start 38th.
“He’s been with us for a couple of weeks, and I felt like it was time for a change," Gordon said after a disappointing qualifying lap.
The race at which of these remaining tracks will have the largest impact on who makes the field for the Chase For The Sprint Cup?
