Richmond International Raceway held its fifth annual community tree lighting ceremony Tuesday night.
Students from Laburnum Elementary School provided musical performances and tree decorations. L. Douglas Wilder Middle School students also provided tree ornaments. The Henrico High School Mighty Marching Warriors band also performed, and Henrico’s athletic boosters served hot chocolate and cookies to those in attendance.
Longtime NASCAR team owner Junie Donlavey, local officials and members of the Richmond Renegades were also on hand.
The track also collected toy and food donations to benefit the Central Virginia Foodbank and the Marine Toys for Tots program. The track will match all donations received through Dec. 17.
The race at which of these remaining tracks will have the largest impact on who makes the field for the Chase For The Sprint Cup?
