Richard Childress Racing cars to carry decals in memory of tire changer
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Richard Childress Racing cars will carry decals in memory of tire changer D.J. Richardson, who died from complications of the H1N1 virus last December.
Richardson joined RCR in July 2009. Among the other teams he worked for were Hendrick Motorsports and Braun Racing.
“D.J. should be jumping off the wall and changing tires for us again this season so we wanted to honor him in this special way,” said team co-owner Richard Childress. “He was a valued member of the RCR family and is missed as we start the 2010 season.”
The decals will be on the cars throughout Speedweeks at Daytona.
