Hendrick Motorsports' Jimmie Johnson made history this season by becoming the first driver to win four consecutive NASCAR Cup series championships.

Johnson won seven races over the course of the season and suffered only one key setback, a crash at Texas Motor Speedway earlier this month. Johnson bounced back to win the following week at Phoenix International Raceway.

SceneDaily.com’s photographers take a look at Johnson’s record-setting season, from the opening weekend at Daytona to his championship-clinching weekend at Homestead, here.

Hopefully the OTHER teams are getting their butts in gear NOW, and getting a head start while JJ is celebrating so we have a more exciting year next year.

I for one, really enjoy watching Jimmy race. He catches and passes cars without crashing them out. It's poetry in motion. I challenge anyone to race with his kind of finesse and pass him by. Jimmy knows how to pass. Not smack someone out of the way. He's a racer. Pure and simple. Was Earnhardt really that good of a driver? Or were they all just intimidated? I would love to see what Jimmy has with a 36 race season. He's very good in the chase. But can he do it for 36 races? I'd love to find out.

Uh, excuse me, number 3; Jimmy has run 36 races EVERY season. So what is to find out? It is ALL part of the year. Add it up. He does what he HAS to do to win. He is a smart racer. There are several out there that race like he does. Mark Martin, Carl Edwards, Matt Kenseth, need I go on??? . . . I agree with you on this one, they shouldn't smack someone to pass them. Pass them clean. No Earnhardt was NOT that good of a driver. He was just another Krashlouski. And I liked them both about the same. . . . I have nothing agains JJ, but I and MOST people are getting tired of seeing him win EVERY year. Way overdue for someone else to do it now.

JJ has had his days its time for some other winners, if not you will see a lot of people not watching or attending races.we know who we want to win, a guy with some CARISMA. We all know who that is.

Doesn't smack people out of the way? BS I remember 3 out of 4 races this year where he booted the 2 car and right away, played the innocent crap and people just loved him for it. Like Kurt Busch or not, funny how that all quit once JJ got that position in the standings away from Kurt.
