Petty Enterprises officials announced Monday that the Paralyzed Veterans of America will return as a sponsor of its NASCAR Sprint Cup team in 2009.

The PVA will sponsor the team in two races in 2009, at Daytona in July and at Texas in November. A team spokesman said it is unknown which of the Petty cars the PVA will sponsor.

Richard and Kyle Petty will co-chair the “Go All In for Veterans” poker tournament to be held Feb. 26 at the Rio in Las Vegas.

“Our partnership with Petty Enterprises has been great for paralyzed veterans,” Paralyzed Veterans of America National President Randy L. Pleva Sr. “We’ve seen an increase in awareness about our mission since we aligned with the King [Richard Petty]. … Our continued partnership with Petty Enterprises and Richard and Kyle Petty will continue to raise awareness of the mission of Paralyzed Veterans and in return increase support and donations and give increased visibility to the men and women who serve our country.”

Financial terms of the sponsorship were not announced.

I wonder if the Petty's will be playing in the poker tournament. It'd be awesome to take their money!
