Nov 23, 2009 at 2:50 PMThe race should be moved to Atlanta or Daytona where there is history at those tracks and better racing for the fans. NASCAR has to start looking at the true fans of NASCAR or soon those fans will not be watching. Also maybe having a shorter schedule would help the TV ratings because NASCAR will never compete with the NFL.

Nov 23, 2009 at 3:51 PMRatings fell off because Gunselman 64, Blaney 66, Skinner 70, and Nemechek 87 were not in attendance. Hardcore fans had nothing to be interested in, surely not in JJ anyway.
Report as AbuseMiami should be ditched for a 3rd Daytona race or 3rd Bristol race, take a week off and then have the season ending race be FREE and on Thanksgiving in Daytona or Bristol. Then fans would flock out of nowhere, and would have more money to buy endless drinks, food, and souveneers.

Nov 23, 2009 at 4:44 PMListen, NASCAR. The chase is not bringing in the fans. There are 12 drivers in the chase. The fans of the other 30+ drivers aren't interested in how Jimmy Johnson is doing. But the cream rises to the top? Maybe. Wouldn't be more fun if all the cars and drivers were included in those last races? Jimmy made history. And I don't want to take that away from him. He's an excellent driver. Especially in the last ten races. But making the season 26 races and having a chase isn't working for the fans. We want all our favorites to be seen. Showing us how those 12 stand every 10 laps, instead of showing how everyone is doing, is pushing the majority of fans away. The chase is ruining my beloved NASCAR. Put it back to 36 races and give more points for wins. The same thing will be accomplished, racing for the win, without shoving away 30 fans. Don't talk to the media. Talk to the fans. Or make the season shorter and only go to tracks once. People don't watch football BECAUSE there is a play-off. The play-off is added excitement after the season is over and the rest go home. It doesn't work for fans of NASCAR.

Nov 23, 2009 at 5:49 PMonce again the viewers have sent a message on the deaf ears of NASCAR.......i guess not that many people wanted to watch "history" being made in the NASCAR 10 race season...let's dump the 26 races prior to the Chase and just have the Chase....

Nov 23, 2009 at 6:28 PMThey may as well do that. Johnson's team has it figured out. Why go out and run 100% every race in the 26 races to the chase and burn yourselves out; you don't get any money or award being the leader up until that point. Nascar was quick to make the chase because Kenseth won the championship with 1 win. Well JJ has 4 in a row, I think its time for another change to keep things consistent. There wont be anyone left watching for JJ's 6th straight championship and onwards...

Nov 23, 2009 at 6:55 PM2 races in the small market of Daytona in 80 days will not cut it and Atlanta had it before and they cried about the weather. The only 4 tracks with weather good enough in November are Daytona, Homestead, Fontana and Phoenix unless you want to affect the attendance of the Daytona 500 leave it where it is. 36 races were never a problem until the last few years when the short attention span crowd started showing up. Half the tracks on the schedule would go out of business if they cut a date from them or the cost of going to a race at one of them would double they don't make money while they sit empty and the up keep costs are the same.

Nov 24, 2009 at 10:35 AMWhen one team constantly gets breaks and rule changes(and don't say they don't)it;s no wonder they can win.Just look at a few years ago,Stewart has a back window problem and gets his car confiscated and gets a HUGE fine. Then at Daytona 48 has the same exact problem and NOTHING is done!At Talledega 48 whines--rules are changed. It is really one sided and I didn't watch the last race either and I have been a fan for over 25 years. At least Petty ,Earnhardt, and Yarborough raced like real men without crying if someone got too close to them.NASCAR when the fans turn away it really doesn't matter who makes history if no one cares.
