WATKINS GLEN, N.Y. – The opening NASCAR Sprint Cup Series practice at Watkins Glen International has been delayed by rain.
The Cup teams were scheduled to take the track at 11:45 a.m. EDT today. They are slated to practice until 1:20, with the NASCAR Nationwide Seires practicing at 1:30 and Cup qualifying for Sunday's Centurion Boats at the Glen scheduled for 3:10 today. The track is also hosting a Grand-Am Series race tonight.
The National Weather Service predicted a 66-70 percent chance of showers at the track throughout today.
