Old School Racing delays debut to 2009
Old School Racing officials have put off plans for their inaugural season until next year.
The series, based out of Mooresville, N.C., had planned to field cars for drivers such as David Pearson, Harry Gant, James Hylton, Geoffrey Bodine and others this year
“I regret that the 2008 season has been canceled and apologize to the old-school fans that have been dying to see their past heroes compete once again,” said Norm Weaver, managing partner of the OSR. “But, for those die-hard fans, we are planning few surprises for 2008 in hopes of filling some of that void.”
The announcement said organizers were taking on new partners but offered no details.
“We had a great schedule planned for 2008," Weaver said. "But to make this series survive the test of time, with the help of our new partners, we have designed a much better series for the ultimate fans' experience. I don’t want to go too far into the details, because we want to do that when we announce the redesigned Old School Racing program.”
