NASCAR to allocate 300 banquet tickets for teams to give away
NASCAR will allocate about 300 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Awards Banquet tickets to the top 12 teams and drivers to give away as part of promotions or contests. Those tickets will make up about 25 percent of the audience at the Wynn Las Vegas.
The event in the past has traditionally been invitation only at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel in New York City. But NASCAR moved the banquet to Las Vegas starting this year for financial and marketing reasons.
“Making tickets available provides the teams, tracks and partners a truly unique opportunity to reach out to the fans like never before,” said NASCAR Chief Marketing Officer Steve Phelps. “We’re looking forward to seeing creative promotions for the limited number of tickets. We’ve worked very hard over the past four months to iron out details for the awards ceremony and the fan element was top priority.”
NASCAR plans to have a parade of the top-12 drivers in their cars drive down The Strip as well as other entertainment and fan event opportunities.
NASCAR is allowing all top-12 teams and drivers to give away tickets, but there is a chance that their driver won’t be recognized at the banquet. Only the top 10 drivers will be recognized on stage, although the 11th-place and 12th-place drivers are invited to attend the banquet and will still be able to have their fans attend.
