Roush Fenway Racing sponsor Scotts is partnering with Lowe's and Keep America Beautiful in a water-conservation initiative.
The Scotts Co., sponsor of the No. 60 NASCAR Nationwide entry driven by Carl Edwards for 12 races this season, along with the other two groups is launching a community outreach initiative known as Water Smart. The NASCAR sponsors have teamed together to educate homeowners on the importance of water conversation. Many residents of the Charlotte area have been affected by last year’s drought, and the message is still very relevant throughout the city. The team will be distributing door hangers to Concord, N.C. residents from 1 to 4 p.m. EDT Thursday with the “Be Water Smart” message.
"I think it’s great that Scotts has teamed up with several other sponsors to send the message on water conservation," Edwards said.
"This is a big initiative for Scotts, and they will be out this week teaching people how to manage their resources and be Water Smart. I know this section of North Carolina has been struggling with drought conditions, so I think it's awesome.”
