The 909 Group, which manages NASCAR’s Drive for Diversity initiative, is now accepting applications from experienced drivers for the 2010 race season.

This will mark the seventh season for the driver development program, which provides opportunities for minority and female drivers to compete in one of NASCAR’s developmental series.

“The Drive for Diversity Testing & Evaluation Combine presented by Sunoco is an integral part of the D4D initiative,” said Max Siegel, chief executive officer of The 909 Group. “The number of young minority and female drivers in our sport continues to grow, and we expect the drivers invited to participate in this year’s Combine will raise the bar in terms of talent and competition.”

Drivers invited to the Combine will showcase their skills before a panel of motorsports experts in an effort to earn an opportunity to compete with the Drive for Diversity initiative for the 2010 season. Drivers who have demonstrated their skill and have experience in grassroots racing will be considered.

Since its inception in 2004, the Drive for Diversity program has supported 31 different drivers in the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series and NASCAR Camping World Series. This season four drivers compete in the NASCAR Camping World Series – two in the East and two in the West – and eight drivers compete in the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series.
