Michael Waltrip has a ride for the Aaron’s 499 at Talladega Superspeedway April 25 as Aaron’s will sponsor Waltrip, who will drive the No. 55 car for Prism Motorsports.
Waltrip has competed in only one Sprint Cup race this year – the Daytona 500 for his own team.
“This is cool,” Waltrip said. “I’m ready to race again and Talladega is a place where I know we will be very competitive.”
The owner of four restrictor-plate victories, including a Talladega win in fall 2003, Waltrip will replace Michael McDowell for the Talladega event as he brings the sponsorship from Aaron’s, which also is sponsoring the Michael Waltrip Racing car driven by David Reutimann for 24 Cup races this year.
