Mayfield to compete for Franchitti in Best Buy 400 at Dover

Jeremy Mayfield will replace Dario Franchitti in the No. 40 Chip Ganassi Racing Dodge for this weekend's Best Buy 400 NASCAR Sprint Cup race at Dover International Speedway, the team announced Wednesday.
Franchitti continues to heal from a broken left ankle suffered in an April 26 Nationwide Series race at Talladega Superspeedway. Franchitti, who tested Tuesday and Wednesday at Pocono Raceway, will drive in the Nationwide Series event Saturday at Dover.
Franchitti said Tuesday that his ankle felt good. He most likely will drive the Cup car when the series returns to Pocono Raceway next week for the Pennsylvania 500.
