Mark Martin paces final Sprint Cup practice at Chicagoland Speedway

JOLIET, Ill. – Mark Martin turned a lap of 175.861 mph Friday to lead the final NASCAR Sprint Cup practice at Chicagoland Speedway.
The Hendrick Motorsports driver’s speed was well off teammate Jimmie Johnson’s 177.200 mph lap that paced the afternoon’s first practice, as the track heated up after several hours of sun.
Richard Childress Racing’s Clint Bowyer was second on the speed chart at 175.547, followed by Red Bull Racing’s Brian Vickers – the polesitter for tomorrow night’s LifeLock.com 400 – four-time series champion Jeff Gordon and Richard Childress Racing’s Jeff Burton.
There were no incidents.
After a morning of steady rain, the weather cleared around noon, allowing both Sprint Cup practices to run in preparation for tomorrow night’s race.

Also,it was clear by what he was saying on the radio that he had a lotta more for them but wanted to know what the boss wanted to do! When my # 1 guy beat him by a hair in the 500 I did'nt even celebrate(i don't drink!) I wanted it to be anyone but Mark that lost! Had he beaten Harvick I think he would have packed it in! The reason he came back was to get a 500 win,& I'm going to pull for him to do just that! The down side to that is he will retire and we won't be able to watch him work his magic anymore,fulltime anyway! Old man my a**! He's a wily ole fox with alot more in him than most! Go get-em buddy!
