FONTANA, Calif. – Sorry, Dale Earnhardt Jr., but Jason Keller doesn’t remember the race you’re talking about.
When talking about paybacks Friday, Earnhardt Jr. mentioned Keller.
“I’ve got a list and it’s long,” Earnhardt Jr. said. “I’ve got to get Jason Keller back before he retires. Y’all remember Myrtle Beach, my first [Busch Series] race? He come off the wall and spun me out. I was running sixth.”
Keller was a little astonished by Earnhardt Jr.’s remarks. Keller, now driving for CJM Racing, said he doesn’t remember the race that occurred June 22, 1996. Keller finished third while Earnhardt Jr. finished 14th.
“I’m glad he’s thinking about me – that means I’ve done something right,” said a laughing Keller, who at 38 years old is less than five years older than Earnhardt Jr. “I don’t approve of the retirement remark. He’s got 10 more years to get me back. So I guess I’ve got something good to look forward to.”

Aug 30, 2008 at 11:50 AMHe is right, no driver really ever forgets. I'm certain he's made other driver's list at the same time too. One certain "cueball headed fool" comes to mind.
