Kasey Kahne's 2010 Daytona 500 car to honor U.S. Olympians with special paint scheme
Budweiser announced Friday that it will celebrate U.S. Olympians with a special paint scheme on the car of Richard Petty Motorsports’ Kasey Kahne in the 2010 Daytona 500.
Kahne, who is sponsored by Budweiser in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, will drive the No. 9 Budweiser Team USA Ford in the 52nd running of “The Great American Race” at Daytona International Speedway on Feb. 14, and at Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, Calif., the next weekend.
Both dates will coincide with the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games.
Budweiser has been associated with the Olympics since the Los Angeles 1984 Games and first sponsored a Cup team in 1983.
“The Olympic paint scheme is another example of the many ways Budweiser steps up to support the community,” Kahne said. “I’m a lifelong fan of winter sports, especially skiing, and have a lot of respect for the hard work our Olympians put into their events.
“The team and I are proud to race with Team USA on our hood and we’ll be cheering with the entire country as our Olympians go for the gold.”
