Joey Logano punted out of lead on last lap of Sonoma's Camping World West race

SONOMA, Calif. – Joe Gibbs Racing’s Joey Logano was spun while leading on the final lap of the NASCAR Camping World West Series Bennett Lane Winery 200 on Saturday afternoon at Infineon Raceway.

The driver who tapped him, Patrick Long, was penalized and scored at the tail end of the lead lap, with Jason Bowles inheriting the win.

Logano finished 17th.

Two other Cup drivers were in the field: Boris Said (EM Motorsports in Cup) finished fourth and David Gilliland (TRG Motorsports) finished 31st.

    jason bowles is a great young talent and hopefully he will one day get an oppurtunity in nationwide or the trucks...hes got a bright future
    i dont think the cup series would penalize a driver for puntng a car on the last lap

    I bet Peyton Sellers WAS laughing his (ears) off. But remember Joey saw Hornaday do the same stuff earlier that night so he prolly thought it was the way to do things. Re-start Ron should've been parked for that move and then the rest of the field would've know that's not how you race.

    I hope Peyton Sellers WAS laughing his (ears) off. Tho Joey saw Restart Ron Hornaday do the same stuff earlieer that night and prolly thought it was the way to do it. They should've parked Ronnie that night and sent a message about using good sense when racing. JMO

    Exactly. I don't care if they compete, but they are racing against the little guys who want to win in their own Series. Who can blame them if they want to win? I always love it when a regular wins. Not a Cup driver playing with the minor leagues. BTW, Hornaday was in Milwaukee, not in Sonoma.
