BRISTOL, Tenn. – Joey Logano was quickest during today’s lone NASCAR Sprint Cup Series practice at Bristol Motor Speedway as the Joe Gibbs Racing driver topped the speed chart with a fast lap of 124.114 mph on the 0.533-mile oval.

Matt Kenseth (Roush Fenway Racing) was second fastest at 123.961 mph during the 90-minute session.

Mark Martin (Hendrick Motorsports), who won poles for both Cup races here in 2009, was third, Hendrick teammate Jimmie Johnson was fourth and Kasey Kahne (Richard Petty Motorsports) completed the top five.

There were three separate incidents early in the session as Kyle Busch, Johnson and Bobby Labonte all spun. While Busch and Johnson were able to avoid contact with the wall during their incidents, Labonte wasn’t as fortunate. The TRG Motorsports team spent the remainder of the practice preparing its backup car.

Busch, the defending race winner, was 38th on the speed chart.

Qualifying for Sunday’s Food City 500 is scheduled to begin at 3:40 p.m. EDT.
