FORT WORTH, Texas - Hendrick Motorsports' Jimmie Johnson led final practice Saturday in preparation for Sunday's NASCAR Sprint Cup Dickies 500 at Texas Motor Speedway.

Johnson, who is leading the series standings with three races remaining, turned a lap of 186.670 mph, while Roush Fenway Racing's Carl Edwards was second with a speed of 186.265 mph.

Johnson, Edwards, Joe Gibbs Racing's Denny Hamlin and Roush Fenway Racing's Greg Biffle were the only four drivers in the top 10 who are competing in the Chase For The Sprint Cup.

Hamlin was third, Biffle fourth and Bill Elliott (Wood Brothers Racing) rounded out the top five.

Sixth through 10th were David Ragan (Roush Fenway), Robby Gordon (Robby Gordon Motorsports), Dale Earnhardt Jr. (Hendrick), David Reutimann (Michael Waltrip Racing) and Martin Truex Jr. (Earnhardt Ganassi Racing).

Other Chasers: Kurt Busch (Penske Racing) 12th, Juan Pablo Montoya (Earnhardt Ganassi) 14th, Jeff Gordon (Hendrick) 15th, Ryan Newman (Stewart-Haas Racing) 16th, Tony Stewart (Stewart-Haas) 20th, Mark Martin (Hendrick) 29th, Brian Vickers (Red Bull Racing) 34th and Kasey Kahne (Richard Petty Motorsports) 37th.

John Andretti blows $220,000 in motors this weekend, at least 2 engines were blown up in Texas. Ironically, his own website shuts down as Travis Kvapil is announced the FRM #34 driver for 2010.

Andretti spent his heart and soul keeping that #34 in the Top 35 this year ...

Here he goes again. A win tomorrow for Jimmie would have the fat lady warming up those vocal cords for Phoenix.

Fast lap or fastest average?? 48 didn't have the fastest average just the fastest lap. His teammate had the fastest average maybe he will finally get AMP'd up after the race.

It was also said that speed was not the #48 teams concern, driveability was; so that was what they were working on. But I am all for seeing his teammate AMP'd up in victory lane. .. Oh don't be silly, of course I am talking about the 88. ; -)

Well he MAY have had a fast LAP in PRACTICE, but I bet he won't win the race. LOL. I picked him to win, and will pick him the next two weeks also. LOL.
