Penske Racing has announced that Jay Guy and Paul Wolfe have joined the organization as crew chiefs to work with driver Brad Keselowski for the 2010 NASCAR season.
Guy will be Keselowski's Sprint Cup crew chief, while Wolfe will serve as crew chief for his full-time entry in the Nationwide Series.
Guy, 36, most recently worked as the crew chief on the No. 78 Furniture Row Racing car driven by Regan Smith in Cup competition. A native of Lancaster, Penn., Guy has worked in NASCAR’s Truck, Nationwide and Cup series.
“I am really excited to join Penske Racing, and I’m looking forward to the opportunities that lie ahead with the No. 12 Penske Dodge team,” Guy said in a news release. “Over the years, the No. 12 team has had a lot of success, including winning the 2008 Daytona 500, and we certainly want to build on that tradition of winning. Brad is one of the most talented drivers in NASCAR, and we will work together to develop his skills and make this team the best it can be.”
Wolfe, 32, raced in the Nationwide Series. He completed his fourth season as a crew chief this year, working with the Nationwide CJM Racing entry with drivers Scott Lagasse Jr., Denny Hamlin and others.
“The chance to work with Penske Racing and a driver as skilled as Brad is a tremendous opportunity,” Wolfe said. “With the team that we will have in place, we know that 2010 will be a special season for the No. 22 Discount Tire Dodge, and we will work hard to make sure we are ready to meet the challenge.”
Keselowski said he was pleased with his new lineup.
“Both Jay and Paul have a lot of experience throughout all levels of motorsports competition, and they each seem to get the most out of the teams and drivers that they work with,” Keselowski said. “I’m really looking forward to working with Jay next season in my first full season of Cup series competition … We are also excited to race for the Nationwide Series title with Paul."
Roy McCauley, who has served as a Cup series crew chief for the past four years with the Penske team, will remain with the organization and assume a leadership role.

Dec 1, 2009 at 6:56 PMBrads gonna kick butt next year, Penske will make sure of that. He always gets his racing teams together after a bad year or two and goes for it all the way! Remember when Al Jr. and Emerson didn't either qualify for indy. He slammed em the next few years and was untouchable.

Dec 1, 2009 at 7:52 PMWell why does it take Penske a couple or more years before he gets his act together. Shouldn't he of done it with the drivers he had already, oh yeah he was to busy --- YEAH RIGHT.
Funny why didn't he replace ROY the crew chief in the past years? Because he was waiting for Brad. Really lets think better than that.
Brad will cause him alot more money because of his over aggressive driving and going no where.

Dec 1, 2009 at 8:29 PMI don't think Hendrick let Brad go, he really didn't have a cup ride for him because of the 4 car rule. Brad had the opportunity to go to cup with Penske. You never know whats going to happen with the new teams, but thats what makes it interesting. I predict the 12 car will be a 15-20 place team next year, and that would be pretty good for a new team/driver.

Dec 2, 2009 at 2:58 PMHendrick needs to trade Junior to Penske for Keslowski. That way all four cars will be competitive. Keslowski is much better than Junior.

Dec 2, 2009 at 5:39 PMI think Brad will do great next year. He will have to slow down a bit on his aggressive driving, but not to much. He has to learn when to be aggressive and when not to. I hope he will adjust to his new crew chiefs and make racing interesting next year.

Dec 2, 2009 at 7:33 PMBrad is gonna find out there is a big difference in cup as far as equipment. Hendricks is starting to get the new chassis down and are way ahead of the other teams. Those top fifteen runs he had at Hendricks, (well I think he had at least one of them) are gonna be much harder to come by. Which means Brad will have to be patient and not drive over his head, or he will truly be a krashelowski. But I think he has the skills to do it. The same will go for the nationwide series and because of his attitude in that series he may find himself fighting to be in the top ten. Remember you heard it here first from the old Bo man!

Dec 2, 2009 at 8:16 PMShort memories..... Mr Hendrick said Brad was the future of Hendrick Motorsports. Brad needs seat time in Cup, and good for him for taking a shot with Penske to get it. 2010 is going to be a HUGE learning curve for him. Not in Hendrick cars, not powered by Hendrick engines, not supported by 100+ crew members, not with a "we share all knowledge with each other" owner. But he is going to be better for it. He is headed down the path of Kyle and Juan with media expectations and that's fine, more notoriety means more chances for better sponsorships and crew members. I've got confidence in the kid, hell, I've already got my #12 hat! See ya'll in February!

Dec 2, 2009 at 8:47 PMHey #9 I agree with you totally. But remember when Dale Jr. made the quote that Brad acts like a jerk, and that he has to prove his ability first before going prima dona. I love the kid, I just hope he does'nt act his way out of cup being a jerk. And sponsors dont like their product endorsed by jerks no matter what you think. I wish he would tone that down. But he is exciting to watch and I love when he tells us that Hamlin has more issues than playboy magazine. I hope he is around is three years. By then you may have an Allgair hat on your head buddy!
