Phoenix Racing owner James Finch plans to continue his racing operations and has not talked to Rick Hendrick about putting Kasey Kahne in one of his cars in 2011, Finch said in a statement released by the team.

While Finch wouldn’t rule out the Kahne possibility, he said there have been no discussions.

Kahne is signed to drive the No. 5 Hendrick Motorsports car beginning in 2012, and Hendrick needs to find him a place to drive in 2011.

“Obviously I would like to provide the car for them next year, who wouldn’t?” Finch said in the statement.

Finch said he plans to continue running his Nationwide and Cup cars. The Nationwide car has run in most races this year, while the Cup car has been to every event. Both cars have had a variety of drivers this year.

“I have no intentions of closing Phoenix Racing,” Finch said. “I am definitely looking for sponsorship for my Cup team and Nationwide cars. Times are tough, but we are moving forward and will entertain all sponsorship opportunities.”
