Co-owner Jack Roush says that no decision has been made concerning which Roush Fenway Racing team will leave his organization in 2010.

AVONDALE, Ariz. – Team co-owner Jack Roush said Friday that no decision had been made regarding what his organization’s NASCAR Sprint Cup team lineup would look like in 2010.

Jamie McMurray, currently one of five Roush Fenway Racing Cup drivers, has been mentioned in media reports as the likely choice to go elsewhere, most likely to join Yates Racing next season.

Roush Fenway Racing currently fields five NASCAR Sprint Cup Series teams, but per changes to NASCAR’s competition policy instituted in 2006, Cup ownership groups can have a maximum of four teams. Because of sponsorship agreements in place at the time of the policy change, Roush’s organization was “grandfathered in” until the end of 2009.

Yates Racing, which like Roush Fenway fields Ford entries, has a technical alliance with RFR. The Yates group began the season with three teams – fielding cars for Bobby Labonte (through an alliance with Hall of Fame Racing), Paul Menard and Travis Kvapil – but recently shut down Kvapil’s team due to a lack of sponsorship.

“That is premature,” Roush said of one recent report which said McMurray’s team was expected to be dumped. “And if I had something to
announce, there would be something written on the shelf back there [in the media center].

“We’re not thinking about next year yet, we’re thinking about this year. Certainly there was nothing that has happened in the last week that is noteworthy or newsworthy and I wouldn’t care to speculate.”

In addition to McMurray’s team, Roush Fenway Racing also fields Cup teams for drivers Greg Biffle, Carl Edwards, Matt Kenseth and David Ragan.

Mentioned Drivers: Carl Edwards

I think that all of the Roush/Fenway drivers are superior race car drivers. It is just a matter of getting the cars set up right, and making sure that there are NO MISTAKES when the cars enter the pit area. That can cost a driver a spot. Greg Biffle is doing a superior job this season, Carl Edwards is being consistent. Matt Kenseth is my MAIN MAN! HE has had some great races, and then all of a sudden, things start to go wrong. No one is to blame. Roush/Fenway to me are the SUPERIOR car owner's in Nascar, with the FINEST drivers!
Let's just keep these guys motivated, keep working to find solutions to problems, and get some awesome wins, and take the Championship this year! We are early in the season. No one should be discouraged! Keep your head up, keep fighting, find solutions, and hey guys, you WILL WIN RACES! I am a DIEHARD fan of Matt Kenseth, but I LOVE all of the Roush/Fenway drivers! Matt is simply special! You WILL FIND THE SOLUTION! You WILL WIN RACES!
Keep up the GREAT WORK! FANS ARE PULLING FOR ALL OF THESE GUYS!

I'm a fan of Jamie McMurray, have been since his BUSCH Series days driving for Brewco Motorsports out of Central City KY. I've seen him win in the BUSCH Series and the CUP series. He is a proven winner. I think that he needs better cars, better pit crews and some good luck to prove him self.

They are all doing decent, though not spectacular. It is my hope that either Carl or Mark Martin win the championship this year, but if any of the Roushkateers win I will be happy. Go Ford. Wish Mark was still in a Ford.

Always been a FORD fan - always will be a FORD fan. So by extension also a Roush fan. My favorite driver is Carl Edwards. Like most of the rest of you I have some ideas which driver will leave Roush but we can't know for sure till it's a done deal. I like all five. I just hope the driver that leaves will end up in another Ford with sponsorship.

Roush, for a change do the honorable thing - disband two of your teams and change your engine deal with Yates to a rebuilding of their own engine shop so they can build their own engines - off the Roush dole.

Roush is such a doofus and will always will be. He's a control freak. He doesn't know how to pronounce Blickensderfer's name....and the reaction he had to Biffle's 100th win for him in the Nationwide was aloof. He was more worried about the 60 and if it could get back on the track. When you don't know how to pronounce or spell your key employees' names then you suck at management.
