Kevin Harvick has been on a hot streak of late at Richmond International Raceway. The Richard Childress Racing driver brings a streak of six top-10 NASCAR Sprint Cup finishes at the track into this weekend's Crown Royal 400.
In 14 starts at Richmond, Harvick has one win, four top-five and eight top-10 finishes. He has an average finishing position of 12.2.
Lately, that's been even better. He has led the most laps of any Cup driver in the last six races at the 0.75-mile oval (599) while finishing no worse than 10th in that stretch. Harvick was seventh in both Richmond races last season.
Add to that Harvick's current overall streak of 53 consecutive races without a DNF, and things are looking optimistic in the RCR camp this weekend. In addition, he's won three consecutive races at the track in what is now the Nationwide Series.
Obviously, he appears to have this track figured out.
Will he extend both streaks as he pulls double duty in both the Nationwide and Cup series once more this weekend?
"Richmond is one of those places where I really enjoy racing," Harvick said. " You can move the car all over the race track. It seems like the groove moves around as the race goes on. I am just really comfortable racing at Richmond, and I hope for another great finish this weekend."
Top finishes have aided Harvick throughout this season. He has four top-10 runs, a start that has him sixth in the Cup standings nine races into the season.
