LOUDON, N.H. – Kyle Busch, Scott Riggs and Travis Kvapil will return to Atlanta Motor Speedway on Tuesday to confirm the tire recommendations for the Oct. 26 Sprint Cup race.
The trio of drivers spent two days at the track last month as Goodyear attempted to find a tire that would race better than the tire chosen for the track last March.
Goodyear occasionally returns to a track soon after an initial tire test in order to do more testing with the compounds it expects to bring for the race.
Goodyear also will conduct a two-day test Tuesday and Wednesday at Daytona International Speedway with Roush Fenway Racing’s David Ragan and Dale Earnhardt Inc.’s Paul Menard.
The next major Goodyear test will be Sept. 22-23 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. That test will include three or four teams, and then possibly more than 15 teams will attend the Oct. 6-8 test at the track where tire issues forced NASCAR to throw the caution every dozen or so laps in the Allstate 400 in July.
