DOVER, Del.Gillett Evernham Motorsports once more found the going rough at Dover International Speedway, with the team's three drivers all struggling in Sunday's Camping World RV 400.

Kasey Kahne was the top finisher for the group, and he was 26th. Elliott Sadler was 27th and Patrick Carpentier wrecked early, then was caught speeding on pit road, making for a long afternoon. The team suffered a similar fate at the track earlier this year, with Carpentier's 29th-place finish the top finish for the group. They tested and attempted to be better prepared for this race, but the results were pretty much the same.

Kahne said that the race was difficult, at best.

“I can’t even begin to tell you how frustrating today was for our team," he said. “It seems like everything we did to the car today never really helped, especially on a shorter run. We struggled with the handling, but the guys never quit trying to adjust on the car and the team kept up its good pit work which helped on a day like today.”

Carpentier summarized it succinctly.

“Long day," he said. "That’s it, just a long day, spun out. Jimmie [Johnson] got close to me and took the air out somehow and just – ‘whooo’- spun around.  I don’t know if it’s my fault or he got too close or lost it there anyway and that was it.”

Elliott is one of my favorite drivers. I really wish he would get a good car to drive. He's so much better than the last few races show. Maybe its time that elliott goes to another team. its odd how one driver (kasey) can be so good one year and the next year so bad. There has to be a reason why these good drivers aren't getting better finishes. And I truly hope they keep Patrick with them. And yes I think johnson did take the air off your car patrick he sneaks up on people like that then never takes responability for it. Good luck to all you Evernham drivers.
