Dave Blaney will attempt to qualify the Front Row Motorsports No 38 Ford for the Sept. 5 Emory Healthcare 500 at Atlanta Motor Speedway, according to a release from the team.

Blaney replaces Tony Raines, who drove two races – at Michigan and Bristol – in the team’s No. 38 entry.

Blaney, 47, has 350 career starts in NASCAR’s Cup series, including 17 this season with Prism Motorsports. He failed to qualify for last week’s Irwin Tools Night Race at Bristol while driving for Tommy Baldwin Racing.

Blaney will have to qualify for the 43-car field, as the team’s No. 38 entry is currently 37th in owner points. He has 20 career starts at Atlanta, with a top finish of eighth (2003, ’05).

According to the release, Raines is still with the Front Row organization.
