Dario Franchitti is scheduled to get back in a stock car this week as he is now on the entry list for the NASCAR Nationwide Series Camping World 300 at Chicagoland Speedway.

Late Tuesday afternoon, Franchitti was listed as a replacement for rookie Bryan Clauson in the Chip Ganassi Racing entry for the Friday night race.

Ganassi said last week when he shut down Franchitti’s Sprint Cup team that Franchitti could drive in the Nationwide Series if he wanted. Franchitti, who won the Indianapolis 500 last year on his way to an IndyCar Series crown, said Sunday he would have to meet with Ganassi this week before making a decision.

In another change to the entry list, Chad Blount was named the driver of the No. 36 Fitz Motorsports entry, which had no driver named when the entry list was first released Monday.

I THINK IT IS WRONG TO TAKE A GOOD LITTLE DRIVER OUT OF THE RACE AND PUT FRANCHITTI IN JUST BECAUSE HE IS WHO HE IS. CLAUSON HAS BEEN DOING A GOOD JOB AND THIS IS WRONG. WHEN WILL CHIP WAKE UP AND GET HIS TEAM BACK ON TRACK. HE IS ONE AND THE ONLY ONE OWNER THAT I WOULD NOT WANT TO WORK FOR IN ANY SHAPE OR FORM.

THIS REALLY MAKES ME MAD. IF CHIP WANTS DARIO IN A CAR SO BAD WHY DOESN'T HE GET ANOTHER NATIONWIDE TEAM GOING FOR DARIO. CLAUSON HAS BEEN DOING A GREAT JOB AND SHOULD STAY IN THE CAR FOR THE REST OF THE SEASON. ITS NOT RIGHT TO TREAT PEOPLE THE WAY CHIP SEEMS TO LIKE TO DO. ITS TOTALY WRONG

what on earth is chip thinking taking clauson out of the car and dario in makes no sence at all. I hope to see clauson back in the car real soon. Dario doesn't need the money or fame he already has those things but taking a ride away from a up and coming young just doesn't seem right. I really doubt if dario will ever make it in the cup series anyway. Or for that matter even the Nationwide series.

Chip Gannassi really messed up this week taking Bryan out of car. It was a huge disappointment to all his fans and his crew. Bryan may be under contract but he won't miss a beat and you can bet his phone is now ringing off the hook. It's not about the money for Bryan he was born to race and race he will.Bad decision Chip.
