Jeff Gordon (left) talks with former teammate Kyle Busch following the Coca-Cola 600 at Lowe's Motor Speedway.

Latest Headlines

CONCORD, N.C. – Former Hendrick Motorsports teammates Kyle Busch and Jeff Gordon had a brief conversation after the Coca-Cola 600 after Busch was apparently upset with how hard Gordon was racing him.

Busch refused to answer a question about it in his postrace news conference, saying the conversation would remain quiet. But Gordon, who finished one position behind Joe Gibbs Racing’s Busch in fourth, didn’t.

“He’s got an issue because he gave me the finger, and you know what?” Gordon said. “That’s not necessary for a guy he just didn’t like racing him the way I did.”

Gordon and Busch were teammates at Hendrick before Busch left for JGR this season.

“Kyle and I never had any issues,” Gordon said. “But I raced him hard tonight just like I did everybody. And when track position  is as important as it is here, you’ve got to race every single car for every single position.

“And I wasn’t going to give anybody an inch, and I was racing for position.”

Jeff has the right to race as hard as need be. Kyle is the big baby, if he can't handle it, maybe he should go home. Yes he has been doing fairly good this year but he is still no team player and needs to grow up! Please...flipping someone the finger just cuz they are racing him so hard. Whaa Whaa Whaa!

In my neck of the woods...I've watched sweet, innocent, church-going, fifty-something year-old ladies flip Gordon the bird as he made his way around Talladega superspeedway. SO!!!!!....This issue should be a pretty FASCINATING gauge as to just how deeply the herd hates Kyle Busch at this point in time.

Kyle Busch and Denny Hamlin think that they can knock people out of the way whenever they want but god forbid someone should race them hard. These two are absolute crybabies and they need to be taught a lesson!

Gordons not upset about HMS lack of of performance,he knows they are so far behind it's laughable. What he's upset about is the little TuRD flipping him off,for racing him hard?Thought thats what drivers were paid to do.

Jimmy Spencer said it best on Nascar Victory Lane. As a 4 time champion, Jeff Gordon has "earned" the right to race his competitors hard". He went on to say that Hamlin and Kyle should take notice of that. I've never seen 2 drivers that have whined so much for being raced hard when they both race others hard, although reckless most of the time. And they must get together to see who can come up with the most "threatening" quote of the week. Fist it was Kyle with "you mess with the bull and you will get the horns" and then Hamlin with his "You throw a rock, I’m going to throw a concrete block back". GROW UP both of you. You aren't in grade school anymore and this isn't the playground. You would think that the "family oriented" Gibbs family would do something. After all, they couldn't hire Dale Jr. last year because of Budweiser, my goodness, that would never fit their image of good Christian family. I guess it's better to have 2 punks as part of their "family".

When are these young drivers, Ky. Busch and D. Hamlin for example, going to learn that the sport that they are participating in is called racing. The green flag means GO and the checkered flag means RACE OVER. Unless they are shown the move over flag or the caution flag they are racing. No matter what position, they are racing. They could be racing for 42nd position. No matter, they are racing. Nuff said.

Actually 'grandamgt Russell', didn't Budweiser drop Junior this year? So that couldn't be the reason Junior didn't go to JGR now is it? PERSONALLY, I always SUSPECTED that when Junior was shopping around to pick where he wanted to go in 2008, Gibbs shot him straight and confessed that they were switching to Toyota...... and SO Junior, fearing a backlash from some of his more narrow-minded fans, crossed Joe Gibbs Racing off of the list and signed over at the Robot factory of HMS to be in a chevy.

As for Kyle and Denny being hypocrites for whining about drivers racing them hard when they race others hard, I can probably agree..... BUT!!! I'd say every single driver in the garage is guilty of the same thing at some point! Imagine being Kyle and being told by "veteran" drivers how and when he should race hard, and THEN those same "veteran" drivers do the same thing to him! AND what about the hypocrisy of some of the fans here???? The ones screaming and crying about Kyle racing too hard and wrecking junior.....AND NOW they are saying conflicting things to Kyle like... "It's called RACING, GET OVER IT". Blah, blah, blah, etc, blah...... Who cares.... This why my focus is on what happens on the track and the exciting things that these "hated" drivers are doing. The rest is just a comedy show.....

Not a fan of either driver. I thought the name of the game was racing. There is to much of this just letting guys go around. If you can't pass someone don't cry about. This free passing will turn racing into the WWF racing with a script. Let's go guys race.

Kyle Busch is doing better than most because NASCAR wants it that way. Other drivers are NOT upset with KB because he is doing better than most....but, because he gets away with things that no one else is allowed to get away with....once NASCAR insures that the big "TOY" gets a championship, everything will get back to normal....and for U anti JG fans.....he'll retire with more money than you will dream of having and merely laugh at KB...all the way to the bank!!!

It's still amazing to me to hear all of the stupid comments from all of the mental midgets who hate Gordon. There is no comparison between Busch and Jeff. Kyle will go through his entire career alienating the really class professionals in the sport. He really would fit well in Formula One, where egos rule.

What is it that Joe Gibb's driver's think that everyone else on the track is just suppose to pull over & let them go. Hamlin saturday night & Busch last night. Busch likes to be called Rowdy Busch, but we all know how Rowdy's career ended in Day's of Thunder. If I was the other 40 drivers on the track the 3 Gibb's car was be the first out of the race every week.

So, how do you all think Kyle would react to getting the finger while trying to pass a guy at the end of the race for position?? He would make a huge scene and whine and point fingers. Jeff is a great driver, as Kyle is proving himself to be also. But Kyle needs to deflate that head of his. He needs to learn that stepping back will only make him better. Theres a reason he fits in so well at JGR. Hes just like the other two guys he races with. All these guys whine when things dont go their way, but at least the Hendrick drivers are respectable on and off the track!!

Anonymou, I am so glad that you see the hype about Kyle Busch because NASCAR has had a downterm and allow KB to get by with any and everything. He deliberately hits other drivers at every race, and they cow down because they never know what NASCAR is going to do. They squashed Junior's agressive driving early on in his career because they didn't intend for him to drive like his dad. I am not a Jeff Gordon fan, and heaven knows he has whacked enough drivers on the track, but I'd give him a gold star if I could for mixing it with that arrogant little jack@**. If you get the horns if you mess with the bull, what do you get if you mess with a jack@#*?

oh my god-why dont you all shut up already. you really make a person want to hate nascar with all your frikken stupid comments. So u have an opinion-keep it to yourself!! You all think you are so dam smart and now everything as to why he said this or that or why he bumped him- I would like to see you go do what they do. Jimmy Spence has a big mouth and does nothing but double talk. He changes his opinions like the wind depending on the driver. I love to watch the RACING and could care less bout anything else. So get a life would ya and keep your mouths shut. Kyle or someone should give Jr. driving lessons so Jr. nation quits there dam whining already. Get over it Kyle is gonna kick all there asses at the rate he is going so mov
