CONCORD, N.C. - Carl Edwards says he hasn't yet thought too hard about getting married.

On Friday, it didn't keep him from fulfilling the unusual race-weekend duty of coordinating a marriage proposal at Lowe's Motor Speedway.

The Roush Fenway Racing driver introduced the winners of the Harlequin and Office Depot "Say Yes to A Winning Proposal" national promotion in the infield media center of the 1.5-mile Lowe's Motor Speedway facility.

Edwards, whose No. 99 Ford is sponsored by Office Depot in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, will also carry a message revealing the surprise proposal on the back of his Ford in Saturday night's Sprint All-Star Race.

"That's a big deal for a person to decide they want to spend the rest of their life with someone, and I think it's very cool for Harlequin and Office Depot to do this," Edwards said.  "I was a little nervous for [contest winner] Phillip [Pruzensky] and I could tell how nervous he was, and Janice [Scarfe] was obviously very emotional. It's crazy that they're getting their marriage proposal on the back of a race car at the all-star event. It's a very, very creative promotion."

I've never said this but thought it a lot about Carl WHY is his mother always by his side and not a girlfriend like most of the guys. When a women her age with that terrible long blond hair is always with her son it sends a message and its not good. Someone should tell his mom to stay out of sight. I doesn't look good if you get my drift.
