FONTANA, Calif. – While Kyle Busch joked on Friday that he wanted to go with Carl Edwards to In-N-Out Burger, Edwards had another idea.

“I figure we can go horseback riding,” said Edwards, alluding to Busch’s comparison of Edwards to Mr. Ed.

Joking aside, Edwards doesn’t think much of the hullabaloo surrounding the aftermath of the Busch-Edwards “rivalry” that surfaced after last week’s Sharpie 500 at Bristol Motor Speedway.

“It’s fine. It doesn’t matter,” Edwards said. “All that stuff doesn’t matter. We’re here to race, and the racing’s been pretty good. It’s been
real good, I think. I’ve just been having a good time with it.”

Edwards and Busch, the top two drivers in the Sprint Cup standings, haven’t spoken since the Bristol race, where Edwards nudged Busch out of the way in the latter stages and Busch retaliated by hitting Edwards’ car twice after the checkered. Edwards then spun Busch.

They were each given probation for six weeks for the incident.

“I feel like we have been really good competitors,” Edwards said. “When he’s won this year, I’ve congratulated him. When I’ve won, he’s congratulated me. That’s why all this stuff this week, I kind of got a chuckle out of it because I know deep down what he says doesn’t matter to me and what I say doesn’t really matter to him – what really matters is we race well on the race track. I’d say that we’ll be fine.”

Edwards said he’s enjoyed racing Busch, especially since the two have been first and second the last two races.

“It’s very cool to have our team running so well, to be on top of our game,” Edwards said. “It’s really fun to have somebody like Kyle that’s so fast, and there have been a couple races where it’s been me or him. I think that brings out the best in a lot of people. For us, it’s been a lot of fun.

“If it comes down to just him and I for the championship, that’d be fine. But I have a feeling some of these other guys are going to have something to say about it.”

Carl had the faster car and proved it after he got around Kyle. He didn't need to log laps behind a slower car. Save that for the other Kyle (Petty). With regards to the Mr. Ed reference, Kyle B. must not have a mirror at JGR or he wouldn't be making comments like that. He's not exactly Tom Cruise or Brad Pitt with those senior citizen wrap around sun glasses he wears.

My connection in Vegas broke it down for me this way...... Carl has low-fat yogurt and a heart healthy glass of low-sodium tomato juice for breakfast while reading “Men’s Fitness’ magazine..... Kyle Busch eats left-over cold pizza he steals from his roommate and drinks a shot of Sunoco Gasoline while studying the electrical schematic of his Cup cars ignition system!!!!!! Put your money on Kyle!!!! It’s on baby! YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeoooooooooooooWwwwwwwwwwwww!!!

Fair enough Cheryl....But personally, I like to see a RACECAR DRIVER get upset when he loses!! Show me a driver that gives out hugs and expresses his love for unicorns and rainbows after getting his tail handed to him, and I'll show you either BAD racecar driver or a LIAR!! Thank you to Kyle Busch!! Godspeed....

I don't have problem with what Kyle says postrace, although as far as looks go maybe he should stay away from taking any shots at others, agreed Pee Wee Herman? I think they SHOULD be ticked off when they lose, EXREMELY ticked off when they know they could have won. It's his antics on the track that frustrate me. He will take out others, early in the race late in the race, doesn't matter, and then not understand when people get mad. IF YOU WRECK SOMEONE ELSE THEY ARE GOING TO BE MAD. Kyle wasn't wrecked, Carl just moved like he should have. Kyle's the idiot that had a chance at Carl's bumper and didn't take it. Just a little bump, move Carl up the track (without wrecking him) and win the race.

Has ANYBODY else noticed that some people are starting to CAPITALIZE certain words to add EMPHASIS to their comments now? SOMETIMES EVEN ENTIRE SENTENCES! Wonder how that got started.....Hmmmmmm?

My thought is this, Carl Edwards would much rather do his childish back-flip, than win a race. Stop showing it constantly!
