Dale Earnhardt Jr. led the first session of a two-day NASCAR Sprint Cup test at Lowe's Motor Speedway.
Earnhardt Jr. recorded a fastest lap of 182.352 mph in his Hendrick Motorsports No. 88 Chevrolet. Richard Childress Racing's Jeff Burton was the second fastest driver with a lap of 180.596 mph, followed by Haas CNC Racing's Brad Keselowski, RCR's Kevin Harvick, Hendrick's Jeff Gordon and RCR's Clint Bowyer.
Teams are allowed to run in four of the six scheduled sessions today and tomorrow. Two sessions, one running from 1-5 p.m. EDT and one from 6-9 p.m., remain today.
