FORT WORTH, Texas – The No. 1 Earnhardt Ganassi Racing car of Martin Truex Jr. was too low in postrace inspection Sunday following the Dickies 500 NASCAR Sprint Cup race at Texas Motor Speedway.

The Truex car, which finished 14th, was a random car for inspection. The top five had no issues. Any penalties to Truex and the team likely would be announced Tuesday.

NASCAR, as is customary, took the engines and cars of race winner Kurt Busch (Penske Racing) and polesitter Jeff Gordon (Hendrick Motorsports). It also took the engine of runnerup Denny Hamlin (Joe Gibbs Racing) and the car of Mark Martin (Hendrick) for a routine postrace analysis.

Mentioned Drivers: Martin Truex Jr.

Well, at least they didn't try to inspect what was left of Jimmie's car. But still after Mark. Where's everyone that always yells "cheaters" at Hendrick????

im guessing they just screwed up and weren't really trying to cheat. unless someone was dumb enough to think you could get away with something that Nascar checks every freakin time.

oh, and that means it passed pre-race inspection and that something during the race dropped it too low. either damage done during the race dropped it past the legal limit or by making adjustments to the car it just skimmed past the legal limit. either way it wasn't the 48, so im sure nobody will care.

i'm wondering if the #48 was totally inspected after being rebuilt when he hit the wall?? nascar is alittle lax when it comes to some drivers..especially when they want that driver to win..

and yet the, NASCAR, are still trying to get something on Hendricks. When, when I say, will they ever go after a Toyota team as much as they have Hendricks? How about Gibbs cars. They can't be that much of a rocket sled to lead by that much.

NASCAR never does a full inspection on anyone coming back onto the track after a wreck. They are just required to be able to hold a minimum speed. They didn't give Jimmy any special treatment. They rebuilt the car in just over one hour. And he maintained minimum speed. So, stop with the favorite treatment for the 48. I wonder if any other team could have accomplish what the 48 team did.

If it was the 48, it would be fine with NASCAR
