Earnhardt Ganassi teammates Juan Pablo Montoya, Jamie McMurray pace second practice at Indy
INDIANAPOLIS – Earnhardt Ganassi Racing swept the top two spots in the second Sprint Cup practice Friday at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
In the final practice before Brickyard 400 qualifying (which is Saturday morning), Juan Pablo Montoya posted a quick lap of 179.756 mph, followed by teammate Jamie McMurray at 179.526.
Rounding out the top five were Hendrick Motorsports’ Mark Martin, Richard Childress Racing’s Clint Bowyer and Hendrick’s Jimmie Johnson. Sixth through 10th were RCR’s Kevin Harvick, Stewart-Haas Racing’s Ryan Newman, Joe Gibbs Racing’s Kyle Busch, Wood Brothers Racing’s Bill Elliott and Michael Waltrip Racing’s Martin Truex Jr.
Qualifying is scheduled for 10:10 a.m. EDT Saturday with then two more hours of practice Saturday afternoon.
