DARLINGTON, S.C. – Darlington Raceway officials announced Friday that Saturday night’s Dodge Challenger 500 is a sellout for reserved grandstand seats.
Saturday’s race marks the fourth consecutive sellout for Darlington, which moved to a May date in 2005.
“The staff at Darlington Raceway has worked harder than ever to reach a sellout crowd for the 2008 Dodge Challenger 500,” Darlington Raceway President Chris Browning said. “Four consecutive sellout crowds for the Dodge Challenger 500 shows the overwhelming support we receive from NASCAR fans in South Carolina, the United States and around the world.”
A news release said tickets have been sold in all 50 states, including Alaska and Hawaii, as well as several countries around the world.
“We look forward to hosting guests from around the world at Darlington Raceway for another spectacular NASCAR Sprint Cup race under the lights,” Browning said. “Fans will be very impressed with all of the upgrades we have completed around our facility for the 2008 season.”
Infield tickets for the race are still available.

May 10, 2008 at 1:54 PMHow can someone as ignorant as Grover get away with using the S word when racers get fined for it? Darlington is a great track and should get it's second race back. Perhaps somewhere in late October and be a Chase track. It takes talent to tame the Lady In Black, and she should be a factor in the Championship.
