NASCAR has fined Donnie Wingo, crew chief of the No. 41 Chip Ganassi Racing car driven by Reed Sorenson, $25,000 for a violation during last Sunday's Sprint Cup race at Michigan International Speedway.
Sorenson's Dodge was found to have an improperly attached weight.
The team has the right to appeal.
