Yates Racing announced Thursday that Carfax will sponsor the No. 28 Ford of Travis Kvapil for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at Michigan International Speedway on Aug. 17.

The race marks the first time that Carfax has been a primary sponsor in NASCAR’s top series.

“I’m really looking forward to this sponsorship for our race weekend at Michigan,” Kvapil said. “Carfax is a company that millions of consumers rely on each year when it comes to vehicle history.

"This partnership is another great way for us to help get the word out about the services they can provide.”

Carfax becomes the latest in a line of sponsors to spend time on Kvapil’s car this season as the team continues to search for a full-time sponsor.

Carfax is a subsidiary of R.L. Polk & Co.
