Meg, I liked the flowers, too! Especially the gold/yellow one. I would much much rather look at those than the wrecks. I opened one of the wrecks and ignored...
Phoenix Racing's Brad Keselowski finished sixth in the Lenox Industrial Tools 301 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.
LaDon George
NASCAR Scene
LOUDON, N.H. – Brad Keselowski and his Phoenix Racing team thought the threatening rain would shorten Sunday's NASCAR Sprint Cup Lenox Industrial Tools 301 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.
So they worked their pit strategy around that all day at New Hampshire – and were rewarded with a sixth-place finish when rain halted the race after 273 of the planned 301 laps.
“We played the strategy the whole time anticipating this. We kept pitting under the yellows to top off, even if we didn’t need it," Keselowski said. "We had probably a better car than where we were running. We kept pitting to make sure we were covered for this situation. And lo and behold we got a break when this situation came up. We put ourselves in position to take advantage of it and here we are. Good finish out of it.”
It was Keselowski's third top-10 finish in his last three Cup starts. He won at Talladega Superspeedway and then finished seventh at Darlington Raceway. Keselowski is driving a limited schedule for both Phoenix and Hendrick Motorsports in the Cup series this season as well as competing full time for JR Motorsports in the Nationwide Series.
On the Cup side, things have obviously been going well for the 25-year-old, especially with the Phoenix team he took to victory lane at Talladega.
"We're just taking advantage of the opportunity that we have here," Keselowski said. "They made some good pit calls there. Could see this rain was coming and was just trying to be prepared for and the guys did a great job on the Miccosukee Chevrolet of calling the right pit strategy.
"… Just real proud of them. To get another solid finish with the No. 09 car that's really great, really special."

Jun 29, 2009 at 12:25 PMSponsors want something for 20 million plus. It take more than a good driver to get a good sponsor. They want looks to go along with the driving. If they cant market Brad to the fans a lot of sponsors wont want him. I ain't saying Brad isn't good lucking but he is lacking in that department. It will be a uphill climb for him next year as with other drivers. Maybe Shell will come over to HMS but if they do Mark will get them.

Jun 29, 2009 at 6:47 PMI think talent, how one handles himself in public, and personality count more then looks. Kyle Busch hasn't made the cover of GQ. The sponsors want to see their car running in the front and in victory lane. Brad has done that in one of the most exciting finishes in Nascar History. Go Daddy has sponsored him in a cup race this year and if you take the cup racers out of the Nationwide Brad would be the leader.

Jun 29, 2009 at 7:27 PMHendrick isn't hurting for sponsorship for either the 5 or 24 next year, yet. Du Pont is signed through 2010, and the only thing he really has to 'worry' about is getting Carquest and Kelloggs back on the 5. From what I understand, Kelloggs is signed through the year and only Carquest would have to re-sign. That really shouldn't be a problem given that his teams are performing much better, unless Hendrick puts too high a price on the sponsorship.

Jun 29, 2009 at 9:11 PMDo you think Gordon is going to have a sponsor problem? As for the 5 car I am sure there are sponsors who would jump ship to get their name on a Hendrick car. The one and two car teams will have the biggest problem next year. SHR won't add a third car unless it is sponsored. RCR has to be very concerned about sponsors. Jack Daniels must have a hangover with Mears driving. I wouldn't be surprised if we see less then 43 cars next year. I'm not saying Go Daddy would sponsor Brad for the entire year, but they would be a part time sponsor. Brad did well at Darlington finishing 7th and his car was by far the best looking there. Their ads are great and took advantage of Danica, Jr, and Brad.

Red Bull is not please with toyota after JGR was given the checkbook. Red Bull is drooling to get with Hendrick and run the powerful Chevy engines. Red Bull is big in F1 and they don't use toyota in their cars, so they don't have strong ties with toyota.
