Bobby Labonte to return to TRG Motorsports for four Sprint Cup races
Bobby Labonte, who parted ways with TRG Motorsports last month when there was not enough sponsorship to run the entire race in all Sprint Cup events, will drive four more races with the organization this year, the team announced Wednesday.
All of the races will be sponsored by TaxSlayer.com, which had sponsored Labonte and the team earlier in the year. Those races will be Aug. 1 at Pocono, Aug. 15 at Michigan, Sept. 5 at Atlanta and Nov. 7 at Texas.
“We are very happy to have Bobby in the No. 71 car for the four remaining 2010 races with TaxSlayer.com,” team owner Kevin Buckler said. “Bobby is a series champion. He made his debut with us at Atlanta (last year), and we’re pleased to have him in the driver’s seat.”
Labonte, 46, won the 2000 Cup championship.
