HAMPTON, Ga. – Dave Blaney is expected to start the No. 22 Bill Davis Racing Toyota today, but how long he would drive in the Kobalt Tools 500 at Atlanta Motor Speedway is still to be determined.
Blaney has the flu and Mike Bliss practiced the car Saturday in case he has to fill in for Blaney during the race today.
“[Blaney] is better,” BDR General Manager Mike Brown said Sunday morning. “He’s going to try to run all he can, hopefully all of it.”
As long as Blaney starts the race, he earns the points for the car’s finish, regardless of who is in the car at the end of the race.
