BAM Racing slated to return in 2010
HOMESTEAD, Fla. – BAM Racing, which has been on hiatus since 2008, plans to return to NASCAR Sprint Cup Series competition in 2010, according to team owner Beth Ann Morgenthau.
The team stepped away from the sport because of a lack of sponsorhip.
The team will field Toyotas and feature the familiar No. 49. Sponsorship will be provided by Warner Music Nashville, which will use the opportunity to promote various releases by new and established artists. Larry the Cable Guy will adorn the team’s entry at Daytona to help kick off the release of his new CD, “Tailgate Party.”
Morgenthau said officials have not reached an agreement with a driver for the entry, but expect several crewmen that previously worked with the team to return.
“I went on a radio show and gave out my e-mail [address],” Morgenthau said, “and there were 700 e-mails that came in by the day after. Some were asking for employment, some were just saying congratulations and some were saying which driver I should choose.”
BAM Racing has 167 starts in Cup, with six top-10 finishes between 2002 and 2008.
