Aric Almirola drops suit against Earnhardt Ganassi Racing, DEI

Aric Almirola has dropped his breach-of-contract lawsuit against Earnhardt Ganassi Racing and Dale Earnhardt Inc.
Almirola, who drove in seven Sprint Cup races this year for the team before his car was parked because of a lack of sponsorship, filed the complaint earlier this month in North Carolina Superior Court. He had it dismissed last Thursday, according to court records.
Almirola has 26 career Sprint Cup starts, with a career-best finish of eighth at Bristol in March 2008. He drove in 17 races in 2007 and 2008 as he shared the ride with Mark Martin in the No. 8 car at DEI.
He drove in 16 Camping World Truck Series races this year for Billy Ballew Motorsports with seven top-five finishes.

Nov 25, 2009 at 4:24 PMThis is a prime example of why a person doesnt need to read the article. All you need to do is read the headline. BOB, why not do a little research and tell us why he dropped the lawsuit. Did he get a payoff? Did he accept another position with Ganassi/DEI? It would be realy refreshing to read an article from you that was complete!

Nov 25, 2009 at 6:12 PMOf course he got a payoff. Which probably was justified as it fulfilled the rest of his agreed upon contract. What's the point of a "contract" if no one seems to honor it?! I'm not a fan of AA but I think any driver/owner should expect the contract to be honored.

Nov 26, 2009 at 9:06 AMI pickup aluminum cans off the freeway and backroads, and then get on a bus and take them down to Potomac Metals SO I CAN EAT at Costco afterward. When I'm not doing that, I'm trying to find abandoned car batteries, radiators and kegs to go scrap and hawk. So far I've picked up 920.5 lbs of cans in 2009, that's 29,500!!!
